2007 Brides: Call soon for date availabilities!!
Answers to some questions you may have:
First, a couple of quick questions for you: Do
you want your wedding video to be of the highest quality and something that you,
your friends and family can
view and enjoy for decades to come? Do you want to take
advantage of, and be ready for, high-resolution DVD technology? If the answer to
any of these questions is yes, then please read through the Q&A's
below.
Q: Why is there such a
difference in the prices videographers charge?
A: "You get what you pay
for". We've all heard it before, but that's what it really boils
down to. The price difference is usually due to the difference in:
1) the experience, professionalism, and creativity of the videographer and
2) the type (and cost!) of the video equipment he
or she uses to capture the video of your wedding and turn that "raw
footage" into a finished wedding video product. Don't be afraid
to ask a videographer how many years they have been doing professional video
production on a full-time basis. Also ask what type of equipment they use - specifically ask
for brand and model # of the camera(s) to be used at your wedding.
It's a simple matter from that point to search the internet to see what kind
of investment they made in their gear.
Q: How professional is your
video equipment?
A:
The equipment used by CWV at your wedding is the same type of
broadcast-television camera equipment used by commercial TV stations. This
equipment meets the highest quality and resolution standards required by
commercial television/video production operations.
NOTE: When considering other wedding
videography operations remember this - no amount of flashy editing
can take the place of broadcast-quality video captured by an experienced
professional using professional grade equipment. A bad video product from
somewhere else cannot be made to look better after the fact.
You have one chance to get your wedding video done
professionally.
Q: How much will your services
cost me?
A: The
man with his eye to the viewfinder at your wedding has been doing full-time
professional videography - including broadcast television work- since the
1970's. Days – not hours – are
involved in making your video a treasured keepsake. We don't mass-produce
wedding videos like some fast food restaurants crank out burgers. We also
don’t do video as a sideline to a floral, catering, or reception entertainment
operation. We do video ONLY
and concentrate on nothing else. We
work on one wedding video at a time and will give your
wedding video the attention it deserves.
- We
don't mass-produce and deliver "cookie-cutter" wedding videos.
- We don't "farm-out"
videotaping responsibilities to others with questionable degrees of experience
and ability.
- We don't schedule more than one wedding on
the same day.
We do work on one wedding video at a time and
do it right.
We do prefer to meet with you personally,
at least once, to thoroughly discuss your wants and needs.
For these reasons, our standard package offering is $1875.
Q: What do I get for that
amount?
A:
We're glad
you asked and happy you're still reading. An
$1875 package includes the most popular features requested by most brides
& grooms.
We arrive at the ceremony location
approximately two-hours prior to the ceremony to get video of both bride and
groom in their preparation rooms. We also video guests arriving, pre-ceremony
still-photo sessions, etc. During the ceremony we record the event from an
inconspicuous location and do not change locations. The groom will be
"wired for sound" to assure crystal clear audio of your vows.
Following the ceremony we record the still-photo session, attend the
reception (shoot the traditional cake cutting, toasts, garter and/or bouquet
tosses, people mingling and/or dancing, etc), and shoot the bride and groom
departing. All of this will then be edited into a finished product of
approximately 2-2 1/2 hours. The
ceremony is left un-edited and complete. The other shots, after editing, usually
total an additional 60-90 minutes. (**Ceremonies longer than 20-30 minutes
may require a significantly longer total tape length. The additional
production required for longer tapes may necessitate special payment
considerations.) After editing (2-4 weeks) the bride and groom
are given 10 DVD copies and 5 VHS tapes (this way parents on each side of the
family may be given a keepsake of your wedding day along with the Maid of Honor and Best Man,
bridesmaids, groomsmen, grandparents, special friends, etc.). Your videos and
DVDs include: 3-5 title (or "credits") pages at the beginning and/or end
of the tape; the inclusion of background music during the pre- and post-ceremony
segments; the use of fades, dissolves and other transitions & special
effects; and credits at the end that list all members of the wedding party and
any other people you would like to thank.
An increasingly
popular feature to our packages
is the inclusion of digital still-images of your wedding day on your own
page here on the CarolinaWeddingVideos.com
website. They will be presented in a format similar to what you may
have already seen on any of the Newlywed Pages clickable from our homepage.
Once on the website, these photos are yours to download, e-mail, and reproduce
as you wish. There is no additional charge for this service included with all
packages.
The newlyweds will also
receive one VHS copy of all "raw video" shot on their wedding day
(this tape is un-edited and includes everything videotaped
on wedding day) and a CD-ROM that includes the higher-resolution
versions of all the video freeze-frame images displayed on your personal Wedding
Day web page.
Other optional features are:
- a video montage (usually 7-10 minutes) of
scanned pictures (50-80) of the bride and groom during their youth and/or
courtship which may be played at the rehearsal dinner or reception (this
will also be included on each videotape copy) Cost: $450
- 100-inch video screen and projection system
- for the presentation of the CWV-produced video montage
(described above) at your rehearsal dinner and/or reception: $500
(**$250 if package includes videotaping of rehearsal night activities).
- videotaping of rehearsal & rehearsal dinner
activities and their inclusion in the final video & DVD product:
$450 plus mileage and/or accommodations (as necessary).
- Additional "credits" pages
(beyond the standard five pages) at the beginning
and/or end of the tape.
- additional copies of the wedding
video: $10 each (DVD $15)
- Our $3000 package includes ALL
FEATURES described above AND 10 additional DVD's.
Q: Can I see examples of
your work?
A: Yes.
If you have not done so already,
you may want to visit any of the Recent Newlywed Pages
clickable from our start page.
On those pages you'll see actual freeze-frame images from several weddings we've
produced in past months and years. The shot composition, lighting, framing, clarity and
creativity evident in these images is what you can expect to see on your wedding
video. A VHS tape is also yours for the asking.
Q: When should I schedule
your services?
A: As soon as possible.
Reputable videographers often schedule 6-18 months in
advance. To increase the chances of a professional videographer being free on the day of your wedding, contact
them very soon after your
date is set. Allow the same scheduling and budget priority
considerations as you do for your photographer. Waiting until the last minute may mean you'll have to settle
for any videographer who may still be available.
Q: How and when do I pay
you?
A: Payment by
"thirds" is the method preferred by CarolinaWeddingVideos.com
and most of the couples we've worked with. Approximately a third is due
when an agreement is reached and the day reserved on the CarolinaWeddingVideos.com
calendar. A deposit is necessary because, once
the date is reserved, all others who may inquire about that date must be turned
away. The second third is due on wedding day. The final third will
not be due, or accepted by CarolinaWeddingVideos.com, until
you view and are satisfied with the finished wedding video product.
Q: Do you have local
references?
A:
Yes. A list of local
references is available on request.
Q: How visible are you
during the ceremony?
A: As little as
possible. Prior to the bride's entrance our camera is mounted
on a tripod. It stays there throughout the entire ceremony until the bride and groom have exited.
Q: How long will you stay
at the reception?
A: Typically we schedule for a four-hour reception. However, we have never
left a reception before the bride & groom. The video of the
couple's departure from the reception often is a highlight of the finished
wedding video and will not be missed.
Q: Is there a fee for
having my wedding pictures displayed on your site?
A: No. There
is no additional fee for this very popular CarolinaWeddingVideos.com
service. It is included as a part of all packages.
Unless instructed by you to remove them earlier, your wedding page images will
remain on our website for at least 6-months. This will give you, your
friends and family ample time to view and download any or all pictures at your
leisure.
Q: Can I download the
pictures you put on your site onto my computer
or e-mail them to some of my friends and
family?
A: Yes. CWV grants
copyright privileges to you for all images and video
of your wedding day. CarolinaWeddingVideos.com reserves
copyright ownership of all video and images so that we may use them for future promotional and/or
advertising purposes.
Q: Can
you videotape our rehearsal and/or rehearsal dinner?
A: Yes.
However, an additional charge is involved. Travel
expenses (mileage, hotel) may be required if the rehearsal takes place more than 60 miles from
Raleigh, NC.
Q: Are you willing to take
pictures at a bachelor or bachelorette party?
A: Yes. However, CarolinaWeddingVideos.com
reserves the right to refuse to place any picture or visual on this website if
we deem it unsuitable for viewing by a "general" audience. Such
images may still be made available to the bride/groom but not by way of this
site.
